Riding the Waves: OCEAN’s New Logo Sets Sail for the Future

OCEAN unveils a bold new logo blending maritime heritage with European unity, marking 50 years of modern ship supply excellence.

As OCEAN celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026, our new logo signals a leap into the future of ship supply in Europe. It combines maritime heritage with European identity, embodying innovation, cross-border collaboration, and the dynamic nature of our sector, argues Arne Mielken, Secretary General of OCEAN.

Ship supply is more than logistics—it’s the lifeline of Europe’s maritime trade. Every vessel docking in a European port relies on an intricate network of suppliers delivering everything from engine parts to fresh provisions, medical supplies to safety equipment. Behind every successful voyage, there is a story of coordination, foresight, and European maritime expertise.

This year, as OCEAN marks its 50th anniversary, we are proud to unveil a new logo—a visual statement that captures the essence of modern ship supply while honouring our European roots. This isn’t just a refresh. It’s a declaration of where we are headed.

Decoding the Logo

The new OCEAN logo is built around two core elements: the wordmark and the dual wave graphic.

The Wordmark “OCEAN” with EU Stars
Rendered in bold, dark blue capitals, the typography reflects trust, stability, and maritime depth. The “C” is encircled by twelve yellow stars—a clear nod to the European Union. Inside the “C,” a stylized wave in blue and white brings the sea into the heart of the logo. This combination communicates our sector expertise, institutional credibility, and our pan-European mission.

Dual Wave Graphic: Blue and Yellow
The lower dark blue wave embodies the maritime foundation: the oceans, the ships, and the suppliers who navigate Europe’s ports. The upper yellow wave adds movement and energy, echoing the EU stars and symbolising forward momentum, collaboration, and innovation. Together, they form a fluid, modern identity that mirrors the agility and adaptability required in today’s ship supply sector.

Stories from Europe’s Ship Supply History

Ship supply has always been about people, partnerships, and problem-solving. In Rotterdam, suppliers work round-the-clock to outfit vessels arriving from across the globe. In Hamburg, an urgent call for engine components once saved a cargo of fresh fruit from spoiling—a small but crucial story of European maritime cooperation. And in Mediterranean ports like Valencia, the blend of tradition and technology keeps the supply chain flowing seamlessly for the modern shipping fleet.

Our new logo captures these stories. It is a symbol of continuity and progress, bridging 50 years of maritime heritage with the future of a modern, connected, and sustainable ship supply industry.

Looking Ahead

As we sail into our next 50 years, the OCEAN logo will serve as a constant reminder of our mission: to connect European suppliers, support global trade, and innovate in ways that make every voyage safer, smoother, and more sustainable. It’s more than a logo. It’s our identity. Our story. And our pledge to the future of ship supply.

50 years strong, and just getting started.
